Brad Treliving Out as Flames GM
Nine-Year Run Ends, Former Leafs Executive Returns
Byline: TBD
The Calgary Flames and general manager Brad Treliving have mutually agreed to part ways after nine years, the team announced Thursday afternoon.
Treliving's tenure in Calgary has been up and down, with the Flames making the playoffs just three times and winning just one playoff series during his tenure.
However, the Flames have also made some significant improvements under Treliving's leadership, including the acquisitions of Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan, and Matthew Tkachuk.
Treliving's departure comes as the Flames are in the midst of a disappointing season, with the team currently sitting outside of the playoff picture.
The Flames have not yet named a replacement for Treliving, but the team is expected to begin its search immediately.
