Hugh Jackmans Deadpool 3 Traps Harold And The Purple Crayon With 15m Weekend

Hugh Jackman's 'Deadpool 3' Traps 'Harold and the Purple Crayon' with $15M Weekend

'The Wolverine' star's latest superhero outing dominates the box office for a second weekend, while animated family film fails to make an impact

Paramount's live-action adaptation of the beloved children's book 'Harold and the Purple Crayon' debuted with a disappointing $15 million over the weekend, far behind the $97 million earned by 20th Century Studios' 'Deadpool 3'.

The R-rated superhero sequel, starring Hugh Jackman as the titular merc with a mouth, has now grossed over $250 million domestically in just two weeks. Its success has helped to offset the disappointing performance of 'Harold and the Purple Crayon', which received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike.

The animated film's weak box office performance is a setback for Paramount, which had high hopes for the project. The studio spent an estimated $100 million on the film, which was directed by Carlos Saldanha ('Ice Age') and featured the voices of Zachary Levi, Zooey Deschanel, and David Oyelowo.

'Deadpool 3' is expected to continue its dominance at the box office in the weeks to come. The film has already received positive reviews from critics and audiences, and its strong word-of-mouth is likely to help it maintain its momentum.
